100% agreement. Too important to overlook on just faith. Although some of the original teachings still remain in the many translations of the Bible (& other scriptures) today, LOTS had to be lost in translation by default, especially if not directly translated from the original language(s) to English (or whatever your native tongue). The essence remains in English (which itself is a VERY limited language, not as rich as those from which the Bible originated), but not being an exact match word for word, much of the meaning simply can't get through. Result: surface knowledge rather than in-depth understanding.
I suggest to ANY true believer of ANY religion, to study the original languages that it was revealed in. As for the Bible specifically, if you don't have a Strong 's Concordance, I strongly suggest getting one as soon as humanly possible! You'll learn a lot.
