The funny thing is that an AR-15 is more of hunting rifle than anything else for all practical purposes. If you want self-defense, you conceal a Ruger LC9S, you don't strap a fucking rifle to your back.
There is nothing better than a compact 9mm for EDC. Some people will want something larger and I respect that, but for the average person, it will get the job done and you will be most likely to actually carry it all the time.
