Am I the only one who thinks the Sarkozy arrest prior to any in the US is meant in part to desensitize people to a former world leader being taken into custody?

Like, if you're Macron, you cut a deal to play ball with POTUS and agree to take the first hit in terms of jailing a member of the cabal? Not that Macron isn't cabal, but this entire thing smells like a test drive
