I recall many moons ago reading about Crowley, rocketman occultist Jack Parsons, and L. Ron Hubbard hanging out together somewhere in Laurel Canyon engaging in bizarre sex magic practices in order to rip a hole in spacetime, or something in that vein. That piece came from the Book of Lies by Richard Metzger.
Parsons and his cavalier group of rocket scientists were called the "SUICIDE SQUAD".
