What if this is the motive behind the 'Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture Act':

I guess the meat coming from giant corporate slaughterhouses, which supplies pretty much everyone from fast food to grocery stores. Local farms might not treat the animals in that way and would presumably be safe. Makes me wonder about the insane reaction to the Popeye's Chicken Sandwich. What did they do to those birds??
