Rockets work because F = dp/dt = d(mv)/dt = ma + v dm/dt
So F=ma is not true when the mass is changing. A rocket propels itself by spitting mass out the nozzle. Since no external force works on the rocket
0 = ma + v dm/dt
and a little manipulation gives the usual rocket equation.
Merkel says there will be war if we cancel the Iran deal, and that she, being our ally, will split with us on middle east strategy.
The first problem with Merkel's statement is the assumption she makes that we still consider her an ally.
