Christ advocated for a direct relationship with God. That's why the Pharisees had him killed. He removed legalism from religion, and established love as the governing commandment above all others. There's no rule book, institution, or filter for this. Each person's relationship with God is their own, and people communing directly with God is the Church Christ spoke of. It's the reason the veil was torn.
