Obama’s “Big Lies” Get Bigger

Friday, October 22, 2010

While you can’t fool “all of the people, all of the time,” it is surprisingly easy to fool a sufficient number of them to get elected.

“People will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.”

That’s an excerpt from a World War II-era military intelligence report – a document which explored the psychological profile of one of our nation’s (and the world’s) most dangerous enemies. It also represents perhaps the most succinct encapsulation of the modern-day propaganda method commonly referred to as “The Big Lie.”

Who was the subject of this particular intelligence report? Adolf Hitler.

And while history is unlikely to witness a repeat of anything approaching the horrific genocidal barbarism perpetrated by the murderous Nazi “New Order,” that doesn’t mean American politicians of both parties aren’t still employing the same propaganda techniques utilized by its reviled leader.

In fact, after Bush Republicans used “The Big Lie” to grow government and rack up huge deficits (while telling us they were for “limited government and less spending”), President Barack Obama is now using it to expand government further and rack up even larger deficits under the banner of “hope and change.”

Of course Americans still searching for “hope” amidst our ongoing economic malaise know that the only real “change” has been the cost of these lies – which keeps adding up at the expense of our liberties.

How many “Big Lies” has Obama told? Frankly, it’s becoming difficult to keep track of them.

Most recently, the top actuary at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid – a pair of programs that shouldn’t even exist in the first place – revealed that millions of American seniors will have to pay increased out-of-pocket health care costs next year for “less generous benefit packages” as a direct result of Obamacare.

Tor Honeypot: How to Hack True Identity of Tor Users

By

Adarsh Verma -

July 9, 2015

or is a free software that is widely used by people to protect their identity and avoid network surveillance. The Onion Router (TOR) stops the tracking of your internet activity by directing your traffic through a free and volunteer network of more than 6000 relays spread across the world. Recently a post was published on a website, that detailed how to setup a Tor honeypot and reveal the true identity of the user without using any malware.

This analysis of the Dark Web honeypot was published on Geekslop.com, where the author describes the experiences and steps taken to honeypot a Tor user. Well, let me tell you the geeky definition of honeypot: “It’s a trap that is set to detect or counteract the attempts made to breach a computer system or a network that looks like a part of the network, but it’s monitored and isolated.”

The author goes on to describes that the project started to secretly track the activities of three types of Tor users: the ones interested in counterfeiting services, illegal drugs, and pedophiles (those interested in child pornography). To the author’s surprise, the Tor hidden service for pedophile website attracted 100 times more traffic than the other two combined. So, this project became a “dark web pedophile honeypot project” that ran its own hidden websites and captured the user information who visited it.

How Tor hidden service honeypot was set?

US cryptocurrency expert arrested for ‘aiding adversary & sanctions violation’ over North Korea trip

The FBI has arrested an American citizen accused of illicitly traveling to Pyongyang to give a talk on cryptocurrencies, claiming that the tech expert knowingly undermined Washington’s efforts to isolate North Korea economically.

Virgil Griffith was taken into custody in Los Angeles over the trip to Pyongyang, where the Department of Justice says he gave “a presentation and technical advice on using cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.”

“Mr Griffith allegedly traveled to North Korea without permission from the federal government, and with knowledge [that] what he was doing was against the law,” the Department of Justice said in a statement.

Griffith jeopardized the sanctions that both Congress and the president have enacted to place maximum pressure on North Korea.

The agency fumed that, despite being explicitly warned not to, the tech expert dared to fly to Pyongyang – “one of the United States’ foremost adversaries” – back in April.

Americans have been legally barred from traveling to North Korea since 2017, information the DOJ apparently forgot to relay to the president himself, who this summer became the first American leader to set foot into the territory of the same “foremost adversary.” A federal indictment for President Trump is unlikely to be on the department’s agenda, however.
