On his final day in office, @SecretaryPerry

issued the following statement regarding the cleanup of Santa Susana Field Laboratory…

This seems like a rather odd and specific final statement from departing Secretary Perry

Given it's proximity to Hollywierd…I wonder if there was a good reason for this!

This area is a government owned research area.

Most notably Rocketdyne ran thier R&D for the rockets they supplied to NASA over the years

There's wikipedia info about DOE's Energy Technology Engineering Center (ETEC)

But in general this seems to be a statement about an ongoing 'clean-up' at the site related to uncontained research reactors that were run at the site

My curiosity was peaked because the statement says they demolished 250 structures….doesn't seem like there was ever that many structures at the site!
