There is fuckery going on regarding archive.is.

When I archived pages previously the max queue size was maybe a few.

First archive I did got me into a queue size of around 70.

Now I just archived a second page, and the queue size was even above 110.

Seems to me that either tons of people are archiving all of a sudden (doubt it), or it's overloaded by certain people.
