No doubt if you put that on there, the media will say, "oh, these are really good, intelligent people!"
I have a great idea! Let's pretend like 2000 years of Christian history didn't happen! This is America!
Really? Do the patriarchs of the Orthodox Church know this? You should tell them.
Luther never went crazy. It might have looked that way to Italian prelates for whom Christianity was a pretext for sucking money out of the peasantry of Europe, but they weren't (and still aren't) fit to judge. They're still doing the same things now, or worse. Like the deputy pope who was arrested while partying with male prostitutes and copious quantities of cocaine a few months ago.
I agree that Shakespeare was quite possibly a crypto-catholic. But the declaration of Independence "based on Bellarmine"? Thomas Jefferson and the descendants of New England Puritans secretly reading a counter-reformation theologian? Think about it, papist anon. Consider that maybe, just maybe, there were Calvinist/Anglican theologians who taught similar things without deriving them from either Bellarmine or the scholastics.
Yeah, he definitely had health problems. So you're acknowledging that you slandered him.
It's really lame when Catholics try to attack the man Luther instead of addressing his doctrine. Obviously you are in no position to be attacking other churches for real or imagined moral lapses.
