This is one of the biggest issues we have as a society. People do not understand our legal system, myself included. It has gotten so convoluted and confusing, and most people believe this is done intentionally, that it is no longer about protecting people's rights but removing them. When and if this all gets settled down, the nation as a whole needs civic classes. Our laws need to be adjusted so that the layman can understand and defend themselves. Right now all most people see is that they are being plundered by both sides of the system. If you are harmed and go to court the lawyer bills cost a tremendous amount over minor issues. If you are guilty, even on minor issues it is expensive. The people need to be able to represent themselves without an attorney and the only way to do that is by simplifying the legal system. Maybe not all, but in most cases it shouldn't take someone with a law degree. Look at what has happened to Flynn. Admit guilt so you don't live in the streets, or stand up for yourself and die homeless. You pick.

And that goes back to having decent morals…

I believe you are correct. That will take a lot more thought because in our current state, it's not about morals, but winning and losing. Same as it ever was… Sad predicament.
