There has been a rash of magazine and news articles which are basically attempts by different communities to claim as one of their own this deceased beloved host and public figure who has been in the news lately. The reason is some recently re-surfaced quotes by the beloved figure.

Are some reading too much into this? His comments were more about tolerance and inclusion but it is also true he had a same sex sexual relationship as a young man when he was in college.
