The whole "Baron" thing and the Titles of Nobility thing was…ummm…that's NOT what the official 13th Amendment is. We researched this stuf last year, and there seems to be evidence that it SHOULD be the 13th amendment. I thin that was DEF part of the show WE wanted in there, and all the 'outrage" over mentioning Baron was just for more attention paid to it.

13th amendment which circulated amongst the states and seems to have gotten ratification in Virginia (final state needed), which was promptly ignored by whomever was supposed to follow through on it (I forget the names/details at the moment, but civil war time-ish)…anyway, it was so that you COULD NOT accept any titles bestowed upon you by foreign nations.

Anon mentioned tue meaning of 'esquire' which all attorneys go by…it means you've pledged allegiance TO THE CROWN! Technically, I've heard it plausibly argued that all attorneys are traitors and have a higher loyalty to the queen than they do the US Constitution.
