'For the first time since the mid-1940s, Wake Forest won't have a Christmas parade this year'

Wake Forest Mayor Vivian Jones: Let me be perfectly clear. The decision to cancel this years parade is not a reflection on our community or our wonderful people. Rather it's an unfortunate consequence of what happens when outside agitators make it known they will use local events like our parade to sew hate and spark chaos. Clearly this is not the most popular decision but it is the safest decision. >Such Bullshit

Regarding the Nov. 2 news article “Wake GOP commissioners face criticism”: It is telling that even Wake Forest Mayor Vivian Jones, a registered Republican, said she supported Republicans in the past election for Wake County commissioners but not this year. She said she plans to vote for the four Democratic candidates “mostly because the Republican commissioners have created an ‘acrimonious’ relationship with the Wake County school board and refused to allow residents to vote on a plan that would expand transit throughout the county.”
