Re: Pelosi. People fucking hate Pelosi. She was the reason the dems got steamrolled in the 2010 midterms. ACA and all around the top entitlement on Pelosi's part. I think POTUS knew having Pelosi trotted out there to stammer her way through PCs would just piss people off. Pushing Pelosi for speaker was always a, 'Bless her heart' kind of statement.

I think the dems tactic was to run an over the top tainted investigation, vote to impeach, then have the senate refuse to go to trial on it. That way, the dems could screech that Trump was above the law until elections in the hope they get the senate back.

Turtle saying they're going to trial screwed up their plans. They're completely over-extended now and can't retreat because they're going to be facing trials anyway (IMO). Best outcome now is to vote and have moderate dems scuttle it. May be they think they can campaign off that (Trump groupie dems begone!) to get more AOC clones in place to keep the house.

The closer the FISA drop is to the vote, though, the more it will look like the dems voted to take the heat off the FISA findings. Maria B announced , "In 3 weeks, thick as a phone book", and I thin the dems timed off that, but the good guys rolled 'em. Now they drawn so far out they have to bring back the fat bastard and summon witnesses like the Karlan "thing" that represent info the pub questioners may not be able to question knowledgeably about.

What screwed the dems up, I think, is how well the pubbies did in the hearings. The witnesses were people in jobs the pub people would have inside information on and they beat the shit of them with it. Jordan could be your coach, Stefanik your History teacher, Collins your doctor and so on, but they gave the appearance that there were adults there to keep the kids from ransacking the place. The juxtaposition of the two sides was just to hard to overlook.
