Yes. Halogen is a good choice. It's a type of incandescent with the same frequency profile as incandescent. However the tungsten filament is enclosed in a quartz envelope so that the tungsten that evaporates from the filament (responsible for failure of standard incandescent bulbs) the tungsten gets re-plated back onto the hot filament. So halogen lights can last longer than incandescents. But you lose this benefit so some extent if you dim them. Also because the filament is enclosed in a quartz envelope filled with a noble gas, it can get really really really hot, which can be a danger in the wrong kind of light fixture or lamp.

We took out dozens of LED lights recently and put back good old incandescent. Frankly our electric bill hardly changed at all. We don't use much artificial lighting anyhow.

The damage to eyes does not manifest right away, so many people are unaware that their eyes need to be exposed to a broad range of natural light and infrared frequencies to facilitate the chemical reactions in the retina that convert free radicals back to their "uncharged" version so they can pick up new light rays incoming. But too much natural light and UV light can also be a bad thing leading to cataracts.

Happy medium is best.

We now wear sunglasses and broad brimmed hats whenever we go out, since we're in a high ultraviolet light location.
