By Way of Deception: The Making of a Mossad Officer

Mossad used to have the motto "בתחבולות תעשה לך מלחמה". One former Mossad officer claims that this motto means:

By Way Of Deception, Thou Shalt Do War

A former Mossad agent, Victor Ostrovsky, wrote a book called By Way of Deception, critical of his former employer. Ostrovsky's translation uses the word deception, and this has been taken up by various antisemites to buttress their various claims of various Jewish cabals.

The Mossad is a clandestine organization, and they no doubt use deception in their work. But a false flag operation is one in which an agency's operators seek to convince people that someone other than the agency was responsible. In 1960, the Mossad was responsible for kidnapping Adolph Eichmann and in 1980 for killing the head of the Iraqi nuclear weapons program. The Mossad tends to leave little evidence of their involvement in these kinds of actions, but no one would believe any country other than Israel carried them out, so the Mossad doesn't try to shift the responsibility.

Tehran’s futile efforts to downplay Iran’s nationwide protests

Iran, December 7, 2019—There’s no doubt that Iran’s November uprising has sent tremors across the entire structure of the ruling regime. Iranian officials continue to express consternation and dismay at the scale of the protests and the existential threat that the continuation of the protests pose to their regime.

But like all protest movements that have taken place in the past 40 years, the regime has tried to portray the latest round of demonstrations as insignificant, limited and incited by foreign elements. On November 20, while the protests had expanded to more than 100 cities, Hassan Rouhani, the regime’s president described the demonstrations as “small crowds” and “limited few” and said, “It became evident that our enemies, who had been planning riots in the past two years and the years before, had very few soldiers.”

State-run media constantly reported the end of the protests and described the hundreds of thousands of protesting Iranians as “a bunch of thugs who are taking advantage of the people’s assemblies,” “a few opportunists and rioters,” “a bunch of lawbreakers,” and “a bunch of rioters who have deemed the environment as suitable to damage the country.”

But for the people of Iran and international observers, the scale of the uprisings was evident. Testament to the fact was regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei, who issued remarks on the protests twice in the span of a single week. The regime also imposed a total shutdown on internet access across Iran to prevent news of the demonstrations and its own brutal crackdown on the protesters to leak out of the country.

Subsequently, regime officials slowly admitted to the extent and severity of the protests. A look at the remarks made by Iranian authorities in the weeks that followed the initial protests shows a stark difference with the regime’s initial assessments.

FCC Allocates $9 Billion For Rural 5G Rollout

In a massive handout, Technocrat lobbyists and those within the FCC are orchestrating payment of taxpayer funds to wireless carriers to install 5G into rural areas. One application is for ‘precision agriculture.’ ⁃ TN Editor

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Ajit Pai announced plans for a $9 billion fund to help carriers deploy 5G wireless service in rural America, which will replace an existing program that supported 4G LTE networks.

The 5G Fund will be distributed through a reverse auction and will target areas with difficult terrain or sparse populations. The FCC will set aside at least $1 billion for projects facilitating precision agriculture.

According to a report released by the FCC this week, the previous Mobility Fund Phase II was marred by inaccurate data provided by carriers. Based on speed tests conducted over nearly 10,000 miles of driving, FCC staff determined that “coverage maps submitted by certain carriers likely overstated each provider’s actual coverage and did not reflect on-the-ground experience in many instances.”

US restarts peace talks with Afghan Taliban in Qatar

The Taliban on Saturday resumed formal peace talks with the US in the Qatari capital, Doha, the group confirmed in a statement, Anadolu reports.

Suhail Shaheen, the insurgents’ Qatar office spokesman, said on social media that Mualla Baradar Akhund, the group’s deputy head, led the Taliban delegation.

“Talks with the US negotiating team began from where they left off,” he said.

Shaheen added that a draft agreement was discussed and talks would continue on Sunday. Anas Haqqani, a recently freed Haqqani Network leader affiliate of the Taliban, also took part in the talks, he added.

The thorny issue of a cease-fire is set to dominate renewed talks between the US and Taliban for a proposed peace deal in Afghanistan, analysts and officials told Anadolu Agency.

Why the Time Is Right to Talk to the Taliban

A peace process with the Taliban is almost certainly the best way to end the war in Afghanistan, and arguments for postponing efforts to get one underway overlook the costs of prolonging the conflict.

"When we get to 2042 or 2045, whatever you wanna use, we actually will not be suffering from what other countries like South Africa have which is having the numbers but not having the power," Dianis said. "People say that demographics aren't destiny, well we are trying to make it destiny."

"Amen!" responded former Obama administration official Stephanie Valencia.

‘We can make a deal together’: Trump thanks Iran for ‘very fair negotiation’ that led to prisoner swap

Princeton scholar Xiyue Wang left Iran for the US on Saturday morning, while Iranian Scientist Massoud Soleimani returned to Tehran from America. Wang had been in Iranian custody since 2016 and was serving a ten-year term on espionage charges, while Soleimani was arrested in Chicago last year for sanctions violations and was awaiting trial.

The prisoner exchange came after weeks of negotiations, a senior US official told reporters on Saturday. President Trump later thanked Iran for “a very fair negotiation,” and suggested that the swap was proof “we can make a deal together.”

Taken during the Obama Administration (despite $150 Billion gift), returned during the Trump Administration. Thank you to Iran on a very fair negotiation. See, we can make a deal together! https://t.co/rZaY9p8xzV

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 7, 2019

Relations between Washington and Tehran have declined sharply since Trump withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA, or Iran Deal) last year. The deal had offered Iran some sanctions relief in exchange for a halt to its nuclear program, yet Washington reapplied these sanctions in the months following the withdrawal.

The situation deteriorated even further this summer, when Washington blamed the Islamic Republic for a series of sabotage attacks on oil tankers and infrastructure in the Persian Gulf and beefed up its military presence in the region.

Bank of Israel proposes open banking rules to foster competition

The Bank of Israel published guidelines on December 4 to implement an open banking standard with the aim of promoting innovation and competition in the financial sector.

The main proposal of the draft requires banks and credit card companies to enable supervised third parties access to their customers’ accounts, if customers give consent.

The plan “will help create real value for the financial customer in a variety of products,” says governor Amir Yaron.

Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web, calls for an end to all independent speech

(Natural News) Under the guise of protecting “digital rights,” World Wide Web founder Tim Berners-Lee has launched a “Contract for the Web” that calls for an end to the “misuse” of the internet by governments, companies and individuals.

Endorsed by Google, Microsoft and Facebook, as well as by the governments of France, Germany and Ghana, Berners-Lee’s Contract for the Web emphasizes the “need” for stronger laws and regulations to create “a road map to build a better web.”

“If we don’t act now – and act together – to prevent the web being misused by those who want to exploit, divide and undermine, we are at risk of squandering” the internet’s potential for good, Berners-Lee said in a statement issued by his World Wide Web Foundation.

The final version of Berners-Lee’s Contract for the Web was released just in time for a four-day United Nations Internet Governance Forum that took place in Berlin, Germany, recently. Its stated goal is “to ensure pursuit of profit is not at the expense of human rights and democracy.”

“Citizens must hold those in power accountable, demand their digital rights be respected and help foster healthy conversation online,” he’s quoted as saying.

Berners-Lee created the internet while working at the CERN particle physics lab in Switzerland

Berners-Lee first came up with the idea of a global internet back in 1989 when he was working at the CERN particle physics lab in Geneva, Switzerland. He originally envisioned it as a platform through which scientists could share information with one another about their research.

Mexico, U.S. 'getting close' on finalizing USMCA: Mexican official

Reuters) - Mexico’s deputy foreign minister for North America said on Saturday that negotiators were making progress on revisions to the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) trade deal.

Mexico approved USMCA this year, but U.S. ratification has been held up by Democratic lawmakers, who have voiced concerns over the enforcement of labor and environmental provisions.

“We’re getting close, I’m confident,” the minister, Jesus Seade, told reporters outside the U.S. Trade Representative’s office in Washington. He said he would likely return on Monday to continue talks.

On Friday evening, Jesus had said that many issues still needed to be resolved.

One point of contention is over steel, after U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer made a last-minute demand for a revised definition of what would constitute North American steel under automotive rules of origin.

Iraq: Armed militias attack protesters in Baghdad, leaving 20 dead, over 100 injured

Iran, December 7, 2019—Eyewitness reports indicate club-wielders and armed members of the Iran-backed Katayeb Hezbollah militia group launched a vicious attack on the night of Friday, December 6, targeting protesters in Baghdad’s iconic Tahrir Square. Spraying the peaceful demonstrators with continuous volleys of live ammunition, the attack resulted in at least 20 youths killed at the scene and more than 100 others injured. Demonstrators at the site were seen scrambling the dead and wounded to nearby hospitals. Many of those wounded were transferred to Baghdad’s Sheikh Zaed Hospital.

France24 cites medical and security sources saying demonstrators are concerned about anti-demonstration measures launched by pro-Iranian regime groups in Tahrir Square that pave the grounds for such violent measures.

Armed militia members were also seen attacking a parking lot near Baghdad’s al-Sinak Bridge. This site has been under the control of demonstrators for more than two weeks. Armed militias were able to take control of the parking lot on Friday night and threw Molotov cocktails to set the site afire.

Manhattan Project 2.0: US Military Launches Large-Scale Development to Counter Russia, China

The Manhattan Project resulted in one of the greatest breakthroughs that the American military achieved in the 20th century, giving the US an upper hand for several years in the form of the nuclear bomb. The new project isn’t lacking in ambition, as military chiefs count on the results giving the US a similar advantage as the nuke did in the past.

The US Navy and Air Force have united their efforts and, potentially, budgets to develop a brand new network that will connect all the units available to the two military branches, Chief of US Naval Operations Michael Gilday stated during a speech on 5 December.

The technology will allow these units to communicate with each other, sharing sensor data, namely on a potential adversary's positions, movements, and actions. The reliability of the connection between every separate unit will be ensured by unmanned platforms, such as drones, E-2D Hawkeye aircraft, and even prospective vessels, like the so-called Future Frigate project.
