Always more of a Lilith and Cain/Prometheus person, myself.
There was a time when even Christianity had a sort of pantheon. It has only been in more recent eras, marked by the expansion of Rome, where the concept of an all-encompassing God was smashed down over the top of 'founding entities' - which were sometimes great spirits, sometimes corporeal beings, and sometimes legendary myths even in the time of their recounting.
Adam translated is similar to "adm" - being the dirt/ground. Lilith being generally translated as the sky - or flying things. Interestingly, Asmodeus is Lord of the Flies - flies being the Lilium - the flying creatures - typically taken to be demons.
The 72 demons contracted by Solomon are an interesting subject to study. The Japanese get extremely creative with it.
