Same here. I hate the feedback loop that happens with social media. It started with deleting Facebook. Then I shut off email notifications. The only thing that is on my phone that I know about instantly is text messages. Via volume or popup. And the only person who normally texts me is my wife. Sometimes my mom.
That is the problem with having my own catalog and being recognizable here on the chan. Sometimes I like to check that catalog too much. I don't want praise or adulation. I do this as anon and I enjoy making graphics that bring very interesting posts to anons attention. I thoroughly enjoy the FEW comments I get. But I don't want to get 500 comments that love/like what I do. That'd get overwhelming fast.
So I've learned to make chan time chan time and forget about it the rest of the time. The weather is warming and I have a garden to grow and lots of stuff I do outside so I won't be 40+ hours a week obsessed here before long. And I'm a bit relieved. Every winter, I spend the whole winter doing something. A few topics that I've spent the winter on include david bradleys, organic farming, biblical research, following the news, etc. and then the rest of the year I put what I learn into practice. Being here with Q has been a lot of fun with like minded anons and like being on the internet in the early days. (95-05)

Can confirm. Know someone having problems with social security. long story short, getting $200 a month extra for 10 years resulted in a $30,000 back pay due. Original social security amount was $700 should have been $500 they don't get any other kind of aid so this isn't much money to them. SS was being an ass about it until they called congressman. Instantly dropped and only owes $5 a month.
