The CFR’s media membership lists, past and present, include: CBS CEO Laurence A. Tisch, and former CBS newsman Dan Rather; NBC/MSNBC CEO John F. Welch along with Tom Brokaw, David Brinkley, John Chancellor, Marvin Kalb, Irving R. Levine, Peter G. Peterson, and Andrea Mitchell (wife of former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan); ABC CEO Thomas S. Murphy, with Barbara Walters, Diane Sawyer, and George Stephanopoulos. PBS media members include Robert McNeil, Jim Lehrer, Hodding Carter III, and Daniel Schorr. Last but not least among the CFR media mogul members is Rupert Murdock, NY Post and Fox News (So much for “fair and balanced reporting.”)The Associated Press news releases can be particularly accurate in reporting not exactly the truth but what the CFR wants you to read or hear, especially when major stories are developing, such as the recent Wall Street bailout and the current global economic crisis. The CFR closely micromanages the news during reporting times deemed critical to their self-interests.
