It's a bit of concern-fagging, but it's worthwhile to read to understand. Basically it says that the 2/3rd majority to convict on impeachment is for 2/3rds of Senators PRESENT, not 2/3rds of the chamber.
Scenario I can imagine coming into play would be 47 Democrats show up with a small contingent of Republican traitors (Romney, etc) while preventing or interfering with the remaining Senators from attending. They would then be able to have a quorum and defeat any measure to compel the missing Senators from appearing.
Long shot, but with the desperation we see playing out, all potential scenarios should be considered.
