I think Ascension is going to be a long running metamorphosis.
In the short term is might spike due to the suppressed technologies catching up.
Although there was a short time on here I though FUCK, rapture type stuff.
But in reality I do think that we are on a good track to reach a more advanced civilization.
What happened to that comet/meteor that mysteriously broke up before it hit the Earth?
Like we were supposed to be wiped out, end of time like the Mayans predicted?
Ascension could be a sudden extinction, since death is a form of Ascension. Like a solar event, or a gamma burst.
But I do not believe so.
Humanity may have ended up being worthy of growth. I seriously doubted it for a long time, but feel now that the complete picture did not reveal itself.
We could still fuck it up pretty bad but for now we appear to be on a fantastic course of social ascension.
Just need to figure out how to prevent our dominance hierarchy from being topped by Pedovores, or more appropriately those without empathy.
Asking questions and pondering is how we have discovered a great many things.
For instance the church and Dogma put people to death for claiming the Earth was not the center of the universe.

My original argument of creation and creator can best be summed up with this.
Creation is borne of the creator and therefore it is (also) the creator.
However the creator is divisible from creation and in that regard your statement is also correct: separate.
