leftmost link is always the auto-assigned filename.

file_store link

rightmost link is always the filename the uploader gives it

file_dl link

I use the latter to upload it to the offsite gallery because that is what the stegfags said was important. I am the only one to upload to that gallery. That is the procedure I always follow, except lately due to the DDOS mitigation measures I can't upload via URL, I save the correct filename image to my hdd and upload that to the gallery.

Just like the Punisher image, the freedom and for god and country flag has been posted by Q numerous times, and all of those images are uploaded, using the specifics mentioned above, to that gallery (and linked to on the spreadsheet in the corresponding post - with the direct link to the image on the chan/board/ so you can check it yourself!!)

Q has posted the US flag many times - they are all in the gallery for just this very reason!

You can filter or search the spreadsheet by filename and see how many times it was posted by Q. The filenames of all images Q posts are noted in each post entry, also for this reason.

But when I list the file links on the spreadsheet, for the one for file_store is the auto-assigned filename, the one that is uploaded is the one with the filename Q gave it (file_dl which triggers the automatic download script, so I don't put that one on the spreadsheet because NO ONE should download an image from any chan, any board without knowing what it is first).

SO - would the checksum be different for the one (file_store) that is auto-named by the chan versus the filename one (file_dl)?

Stegfags asked me to upload the latter, so that is what I do. I know nothing of steganography, probably obvious by now kek

I'm just being a dick about it I'm asking genuinely here because accuracy is very important. I cannot understand how any image Q posted on either chan would be different once it has been uploaded somewhere else, directly from either chan? It needs to be rectified if something went wrong or is inaccurate.

I really DON'T know much about it - I did what the stegfags asked, because they said it was/is important and I did what they asked me to do. I don't understand it (why the hash would somehow be different than what Q posted) but I want the record to be accurate. The record needs to be accurate - it's for history. If I'm doing something wrong I need to know so I can correct it. It's not about me it's about the historical record.

I don't know what to do differently here, so I was (and am) asking genuinely, because I don't know what I need to do for Q's images to have the correct hash in the off-site gallery.

Eh, most actual oldfags knew this stuff before Q arrived on 4/pol/. That's why Q team went to 4/pol/ in the first place: a group of people who already had a lot of background knowledge on various pertinent topics, knew how to research (many before the internet was available) and had stared into the abyss and laughed at it all.
