Understood. I've mulled that question before (I like edge cases) of alternate routes to the presidency that might skirt around the 22nd Amendment limitations.

 

We saw something like this in Russia when Putin had his term as Prime Minister to work around Constitutional limitations on his continued tenure in the Presidency. (Although in that case Medvedev served the full term as President and Putin as PM carried his personal prestige to be an especially powerful PM, didn't need the Presidency)

 

But the theory of Trump getting a 3rd term via rising to the Presidency in some legal manner other than election doesn't explain Huckabee's tweet, which was explicitly about a "2024 re-election" and Trump being eligible (for election to a 3rd term.)
