Well said, anon. Reminds me of a blurb I've been working on. Not fully finished yet but seems appropraite for this moment.
Mental illness is a direct response to detachment from reality. When the narrative that is sold to the sheep is believed in spite of the evidence of our eyes, a cognitive dissonance, or mental disconnect occurs such that we are forced to hold opposing and mutually exclusive positions in order to make sense of the world.
But what is reality? Why is it possible for those who sell a narrative (false reality) to even gain attention never mind alter our basic conceptions of reality?
Reality is more tenuous than we might wish to believe inasmuch as we all are influenced by such things as historical beliefs, theories proposed by so-called scientific and other experts, and prognostications from all manner of sources. All these contribute to, and underpin, a worldview that we construct in our minds so as to make sense of our existence. But if this worldview is faulty (untrue) then it will continually collide with experiential truth such that our perception of reality becomes detached from actual and observable existence and strays into the realm of delusion where an imaginary/virtual reality is constructed by the mind as an antidote to the cognitive dissonance promulgated by those who aim to control individuals through propaganda and false narratives. Thus, the mind is split between observable and experienced reality and the false narrative being sold by those who seek control of people. The mental response to this cognitive dissonance is to construct a delusional, virtual reality that can somehow accommodate the disconnect but in so doing ignores all reason and logic and common sense, thus rendering the hapless victim irrational, lacking basic common sense and, in short, mentally ill.
The only access we have to objective reality (past, present, future) is necessarily revelational by and from a communicating entity that spans time and events, since humanity is incapable of observing/experiencing beyond the minute sliver of time and circumstance allotted to an individual– with an average lifespan of approx. 70 years. Thus we are dependent on FAITH and where, or in whom, we choose to place our faith. Do we believe scientists or doctors or professors or teachers other experts/authority figures? Who do we trust? In whom do we have faith? Personally, my faith is in One who has revealed Himself as the eternal Creator of all things and who became a man in Christ Jesus. Everything I have ever read in the Bible correlates with what I experience in real life and therefore confirms its truth. Ever wondered why Christians are, and have been, so persecuted? They have a hotline to truth that always will expose the spinners of lies and a virtual reality based on their lies.
