I don't have exact numbers but back then there were less than 1000 Confined Animal Feeding Operations for pigs, think around 750 or less. Today it's some ungodly number and there's fucking CAFO's on every square mile in some places. Can't even take a drive in the country in some areas without smelling hogs everywhere.

Where you from? Moldboard plows aren't evil, they are a tool that has def. been extremely overused. I have one, run it once a year, maybe every other year. It has it's purpose and it can't be run too deep. It's good in the top 6-8", some plows can go a couple feet deep.
A disc and a harrow are both much more useful.

It was a comment from last night, we were having a conversation about the midwest being so much better and I mentioned the most exciting thing was an airplane flying over.
