I think I figured it out. We need to go into the trending hashtags and reply to their tweets. For instance, @jeffflake is trending right now. Open a tweet and click respond, then add the #greatawakening #fakenewsaward hashtags, add a bit of text and hit the tweet button.
I also suggest clearing your browser history so that twatter can't see that you've been on 8chan.
By the way, they locked one of my shell twatter accounts after doing this a few times. that tells me I'm on to something.
