Flamingo populations were decimated during the Great Pelican Wars of 1914 and 1939. Nearly all of the Flamingos were killed as a result of "collateral damage."

Experts believe that if Pelican hostilities were to break out again today, only 3-6% of the Flamingos living in the world today would manage to survive.
