U.S. Navy may soon have an indestructible 'aircraft carrier' right on China's doorstep

…The new U.S. military advantage would come from the Japanese government's acquisition of Mageshima, a small uninhabited island off the nation's southern coast.

…As far back as 2014, the island has been in the eyes of Japanese and American defense officials as an excellent location for landing practice. Its strategic location also means that the airfield would be an integral part of disaster and emergency responses.

…Less than 550 miles from the Chinese coast, this would put U.S. airpower uncomfortably close to the communist nation.

Navy pilots livid over law making them 'soft targets,' demand changes after Pensacola attack

A letter signed in the wake of Saudi national Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani’s deadly Dec. 6 attack at Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola — the second lieutenant killed three and wounded others before he was stopped with deadly force — says it’s time for a 1992 law to change.

“ENS Joshua Kaleb Watson was a small-arms instructor and captain of the rifle team at the United States Naval Academy,” the letter says of one victim, Fox News reported Sunday. “Yet when charged with standing the watch, he was equipped with nothing more than a logbook and a pen.”

Sen. Graham: 'I Don't Need Any Witnesses'

(CNSNews.com) - Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) says it's best for the country to make quick work of the Senate impeachment trial.

"I am – clearly made up my mind. I'm not trying to hide the fact that I have disdain for the accusations and the process. So I don't need any witnesses. The president can make a request to call witnesses. They can make a request or call Mike Pence and Pompeo and Joe Biden and Hunter Biden.

"I am ready to vote on the underlying articles. I don't really need to hear a lot of witnesses."
