The relationship between GCHQ (UK) and the NSA is/was a very close partnership. They were combined in the UK, certainly in Bude, Cornwall. Following article claims staff based there come from both countries and the station operates/operated under joint UK/USA control. Leads to the question if Snowden had links there.

‘GCHQ Bude, formerly known as the the GCHQ Composite Signals Organisation Station (CSOS) Morwenstow, is a satellite ground station located on the north Cornwall coast between the small villages of Morwenstow and Coombe, UK operated by the British signals intelligence service (GCHQ) on the site of the former World War II airfield, RAF Cleave.'

'Staff are drawn from GCHQ (UK) and the NSA (U.S.) and the station is operated under the UKUSA agreement, gathering data for the ECHELON signals intelligence (SIGINT) network. Comparable stations in operation include Menwith Hill (UK), Sugar Grove (West Virginia, U.S.), Yakima (Washington, U.S.), Sabana Seca (Puerto Rico), Misawa (Japan), Pine Gap (Australia), Geraldton (Australia), GCSB Waihopai (New Zealand) and GCSB Tangimoana (New Zealand) that cover other INTELSAT areas such as South America and the Pacific Ocean. GCHQ Bude is located about 100 km from the commercially operated Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station that handles civilian communications which was closed in 2008.’ https://publicintelligence.net/gchq-bude/

When McCabe and Fleming (current head of GCHQ) were communicating about their ‘strange situation’ it would not have meant ‘Russian collusion’ as per the msm narrative as they would have known it was false. What were they referring to?

-The UK referendum confirming the British voters desire to leave the EU? (The rise of 'populism'?)

-Their new problem of being able to ‘smell’ Trump voters in Walmart and the decision to put insurance in place?

-HRCs email loss or any of the other scandals they might have had to prepare to deal with?

-Snowden/Assange? ( shortly after Snowden - https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/theroyalfamily/10484587/Prince-Philip-visits-GCHQs-secret-London-listening-post.html )

Indeed. Soft disclosure ahead of the texts being released? Presumably an American journalist has them? The Guardian just speaks of a source and puts their own vague interpretation on the 'infrequent' also described somewhere as 'a-typical coms. Here's a twitter thread from the summer.
