Pretty obvious threat. They used a photo of the assassination of Philip Barton Key, son of Francis Scott Key. Gunned down across the street from White House by NY Congressman Daniel Sickles in 1959.
Phillip Barton Key was alleged to be having an affair with the congressman's wife. Sickles was successfully acquitted of all charges by a determination of temporary insanity. The first time that plea had every been used in the United States.
These sick fucks have been getting away with murder for way too long. Below is the the description of a disgustingly familiar tactic that was in use over 150 years ago.
"Sickles had obtained a graphic confession from his wife Teresa. It was ruled inadmissible in court, but, was leaked by him to the press and printed in the newspapers in full. The defense strategy ensured that the trial was the main topic of conversations in Washington for weeks, and the extensive coverage of national papers was sympathetic to Sickles. In the courtroom, the strategy brought drama, controversy, and, ultimately, an acquittal for Sickles."
