Sidney Powell: ‘Durham Report May Indict Brennan, Comey, And McCabe’

In a bombshell of a statement, attorney Sidney Powell suggested that at least three top Obama regime figures could soon be in serious legal jeopardy.

Powell, who is currently representing former national security adviser and retired Army general Michael Flynn – who was set up by the FBI – predicted that John Brennan, James Comey and Andrew McCabe may have indictments in their future.

Following the release of the long-awaited DOJ Inspector General’s report which provided damning evidence that high-ranking officials relied on the debunked dossier of slimy British spook Christopher Steel to defraud the secret court, the next phase is coming.

According to Powell, the ongoing investigation into the origins of the Russia hoax by Attorney General William Barr and prosecutor John Durham could result in the trio facing charges and the very real possibility of jail time.

The crusading attorney made her comments during a round table discussion on the podcast The War Room.

Via The War Room:

On Episode 69 of War Room: Impeachment Stephen K. Bannon, Jason Miller, and Raheem Kassam were joined by Gen. Mike Flynn‘s attorney Sidney Powell, who noted she believes U.S. attorney John Durham’s upcoming report will indict multiple individuals.

Miller asked the attorney: “What do you want to see out of this Durham report that’s coming up next?”

“I’ve never heard of a U.S. attorney doing a report,” Powell responded. “I think [Durham is] going to indict people That’s what U.S. attorney’s do.”

“That is huge,” Miller emphasized.

Bannon inquired: “You’re saying that certain people like Brennan, Comey, and McCabe and these guys should lawyer up?”

“I imagine they already have,” Powell said. “If they haven’t, they are even dumber than they look.”

Brookline, Massachusetts, Passes Facial Recognition Ban

The town of Brookline overwhelmingly voted to ban government use of facial recognition technology in the city on Wednesday, December 11th . The growing movement to prohibit the use of facial recognition at the state and local levels could hinder the operation of a growing national facial recognition network.

Brookline Town Meeting member Amy Hummel introduced a by-law (Article 25) banning all government use of facial recognition technology.

Face surveillance technology poses unprecedented threats to civil liberties. This warrant article gives Brookline Town Meeting the opportunity to take action and protect fundamental rights … Without a ban on facial recognition, the technology is likely to become entrenched without meaningful public knowledge or input, and it will become increasingly difficult to legislate and regulate the longer it is unfettered.

The town voted 179-8 to approve the ban.

Brookline became the second Massachusetts city to ban facial recognition. Earlier this year, Somerville passed an ordinance prohibiting the technology. The city of Springfield is considering a similar ban. There are also bills moving through the Massachusetts state legislature to place a moratorium on facial recognition technology.

The ACLU of Massachusetts is aggressively pushing measures to limit government use of facial recognition and supported the Brookline ban. In a statement, ACLU of Massachusetts Technology for Liberty Program director Kade Crockford called it a matter of basic civil liberties.

People should be able to walk around Brookline without worrying that government agencies are keeping tabs on their every movement. For too long, face surveillance technology has gone unregulated, posing a serious threat to our basic civil rights and civil liberties. In the absence of state or national action, municipal governments have taken the first steps towards sensible policy. We are grateful for Brookline’s leadership to bring this technology under democratic control.

The Brookline facial recognition ban is part of a broader nationwide movement to limit this invasive surveillance technology at the local and state level. San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley. have all prohibited government use of facial recognition technology. Portland, Oregon is considering similar bans, The California governor recently signed a bill that imposes a 3-year ban on the use of the tech in conjunction with police body-worn cameras. The New York Assembly is considering a bill to ban facial recognition in schools and on police body cameras.

IMPACT ON FEDERAL PROGRAMS

A recent report revealed that the federal government has turned state drivers’ license photos into a giant facial recognition database, putting virtually every driver in America in a perpetual electronic police lineup. The revelations generated widespread outrage, but this story isn’t new. The federal government has been developing a massive, nationwide facial recognition system for years.

The FBI rolled out a nationwide facial-recognition program in the fall of 2014, with the goal of building a giant biometric database with pictures provided by the states and corporate friends.

Turkish-backed Militants Claim They Killed & Wounded Several Russian Special Forces Operators In Southern Aleppo

On December 16, the Turkish-backed coalition of militant groups, the National Front for Liberation, claimed that its members had killed and wounded a number of Russian Speial Forces operators in the area of Khalsa in the southern countryside of Aleppo city.

The group provided no visual evidence to confirm these claims. Therefore, this statement was likely an ordinary example of pro-militant propaganda that so popular in mainstream media outlets. Militant groups surrounded in Greater Idlib are making every possible effort to demonstrate that they are a capable and powerful force that can repel attacks by “evil Russians”. In recent months, reports claiming that “rebels” repelled another attack by Russian Special Forces became especially popular in pro-militant media outlets.

"It's Nuts" - The Fed Has Created A "Monstrous Beast Of Over-Inflated Valuation"

"Own risk assets…everywhere… everywhere" says Embark Group's CIO Peter Toogood, exclaiming that "this is nothing to do with fundamentals anymore, fill your boots, why not?"

After The Fed entirely flip-flopped from last year, the clearly frustrated manager notes the facts behind the so-called market, "flooding the repo market with $400, $500 billion from The Fed to stop it collapsing after it reversed course massively from last year…"

"..we'll just keep pumping… and we'll just keep pumping… and it's not QE they tell us, definitely not QE… and its worked for the last 8 years so we'll just keep pumping more…"

It's quit simple, Toogood notes, "all CTAs have gone long, most macro funds are long, the biggest engines in London are as long as they can be… and vol is on the floor…"

"Just keep going…" he chides sarcastically:

"…until you don't, until the music stops… I'm being incredibly flippant but for a very good reason… there is no logic to [buying risk assets like equities] other than to chase the gilded lily… it's nuts!"

The anchor attempted to get the conversation back on track, by mentioning earnings, to which Toogood scoffed -

"Earnings! Earnings? Are they relevant?"

Man Sentenced To 10 Years For Brutal Beating Of 18-Month-Old Child as His Attorney Says ‘He’s Not a Monster’

Fargo, ND – Today in U.S. District Court, Chief Judge Peter D. Welte sentenced Jonathan James Hill, age 23, to 10 years in federal prison for the offense of Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury. Defendant Hill is an enrolled member of the Spirit Lake Sioux Tribe and the Sisseton Wahpeton Sioux Tribe. Upon completion of his prison sentence, Hill will be placed on five years of supervised release with a number of conditions including that he have no contact with children under the age of 18 without express permission of his supervising agent. Hill will also be required to pay restitution.

Hill’s attorney, Chris Lancaster told the court Hill ‘is not a monster,’ and asked Hill first serve five years in prison with another five of supervised release.

The investigation in this case began on January 1, 2019, when emergency medical technicians responded to a residence in Fort Totten, ND, within the boundaries of the Spirit Lake Reservation, for a report of an unresponsive baby. Medical providers described the 20-month-old baby as “noticeably bruised to face & entire body.” The baby was diagnosed with multiple acute and chronic injuries to the brain and body. Medical providers believed the injuries to be “non-accidental” and were later determined to be consistent with abusive head trauma and child physical abuse. The baby’s injuries required air transport for medical treatment, surgical intervention, and months-long hospitalization.

New York Fed Plans to Throw $2.93 Trillion at Wall Street’s Trading Houses Over Next Month

One has to wonder how much money it would take for the New York Fed to throw at Wall Street before the New York Times reports to its readers on the biggest Wall Street bailout by the Fed since the financial crisis.

Last Thursday, December 12, the New York Fed announced that over the next month it would shower the trading houses (primary dealers) on Wall Street with a total of $2.93 trillion in short-term loans. The money is for a Wall Street liquidity crisis that has yet to be explained in credible terms to the American people and yet the New York Times does not appear to have an investigative reporter assigned to investigate what’s really going on just 11 years after those same trading houses blew themselves up in the biggest financial crash since the Great Depression and took the U.S. economy along for the ride.

The New York Fed’s repo (repurchase agreement) loan program began on September 17 when repo loan rates spiked from approximately 2 percent to 10 percent – meaning either liquid funds were not available to loan or the mega banks on Wall Street were backing away from lending to certain counterparties. Repo loans are typically between banks, hedge funds and money market funds on an overnight basis and are made against good-quality collateral. Since that time, the New York Fed has been making these loans to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars weekly.

The New York Times covered the subject in September. Then an eerie silence took hold in October and November as the Fed continued to pump out over $3 trillion in cumulative loans to Wall Street’s trading houses. On December 8 and December 12, the New York Times simply ran articles by Reuters on the Fed’s loans, which are the first of their kind since the financial crisis.

The $2.93 trillion that the New York Fed will funnel to Wall Street over the next month consists of up to $120 billion each weekday in overnight loans through January 14 and $440 billion in term loans ranging from 3-days to 32 days. In addition, during the last week of the year (on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) the Fed will bump up its overnight loan offerings to $150 billion from $120 billion, thus providing an additional $90 billion that week…

Andrew McCabe’s Defense Of The FBI And Steele Dossier Crumble Under Weight Of IG Report

The DOJ report on the FBI’s surveillance abuses against the Trump campaign severely undermined Andrew McCabe’s recent defense of Christopher Steele and his anti-Trump dossier.

McCabe told journalist Carl Bernstein in October that the FBI was unable to disprove much of the dossier. He also said Steele had provided information in the past that the FBI used in search warrants and criminal indictments.

The DOJ report refuted both of those assertions in a scathing report that blasted the FBI for withholding derogatory information about the dossier in order to conduct surveillance on Carter Page.

Andrew McCabe hyped Christopher Steele and the infamous dossier in an October interview, saying the FBI was unable to disprove much of the information in the salacious document, and that the bureau had relied on the ex-British spy’s information in the past for use in criminal indictments and search warrants.

“There was a lot of information that we could not disprove. There was a fair amount of information that we knew was accurate, but there are always questions with respect to timing,” McCabe told journalist Carl Bernstein at an event Oct. 3.

“Steele had a history of good reporting to us … information that was judged to be so accurate that it was used in things like arrest warrants and indictments,” the former FBI deputy director continued.

But McCabe left out the full story about Steele, the dossier, and the FBI’s investigation of the report — one that was detailed extensively in the Justice Department inspector general’s report released Dec. 9.

The report said, contrary to McCabe’s claims, that the FBI was unable to corroborate any of Steele’s specific allegations about Donald Trump or members of his campaign, including Carter Page, who was the subject of FBI surveillance that was based heavily on the dossier.

FBI agents who worked on Crossfire Hurricane, the code name for the Trump-Russia probe, also withheld exculpatory information regarding Page and derogatory information regarding Steele and the dossier.

Hundreds of Professors Sign Letter Begging Congress to Impeach Trump

Hundreds of college professors, referring to themselves as “American historians,” have signed a letter begging the U.S. House of Representatives to impeach President Donald Trump, claiming that the president has “violated his oath” and citing his “brazen contempt” for the government. The signees even suggest that Alexander Hamilton himself would disagree with the president’s “private life” as a reason for impeachment.

“We are American historians devoted to studying our nation’s past who have concluded that Donald J. Trump has violated his oath,” proclaim nearly 600 professors in a letter to Congress attempting to justify the impeachment of the sitting President of the United States.

In the letter, the signees insist that President Trump’s impeachment is “urgently and justly” required, and claim that the president is guilty of “attempts to subvert the Constitution,” adding that Alexander Hamilton and other framers of the U.S. Constitution would agree.

As of early Tuesday afternoon, 752 so-called “American historians” have signed the letter published on Monday — nearly 600 of whom are listed as college professors.

The group goes on to claim that President Trump has engaged in “lawless obstruction of the House of Representatives,” and accuse the president of having “demonstrated brazen contempt for representative government.”

They also claim that if President Trump had his way, he “would turn the [presidency] into an elected monarch above the law.”

As for the president’s alleged impeachable offenses, the group regurgitates the hearsay utilized by House Democrats in the impeachment hearings, claiming that President Trump has withheld military funding from Ukraine in exchange for favors.

“Among those most hurtful to the Constitution have been his attempts to coerce the country of Ukraine, under attack from Russia, an adversary power to the United States, by withholding essential military assistance in exchange for the fabrication and legitimization of false information in order to advance his own re-election,” reads the letter.

The group also suggests that the president’s personal life is grounds for impeachment, citing Alexander Hamilton, who they say has argued that the republic is “vulnerable to the rise of an unscrupulous demagogue” who is “unprincipled in private life, desperate in his fortune, bold in his temper, possessed of considerable talents…”

“Such a figure, Hamilton wrote, would ‘throw things into confusion that he may ‘ride the storm and direct the whirlwind,'” adds the group in their letter, before going on to argue that the president’s actions fit Hamilton’s description.

The signees also claim that if President Trump can’t be impeached, then no one can.

“It is our considered judgment that if President Trump’s misconduct does not rise to the level of impeachment, then virtually nothing does,” affirm the professors and others in their bizarre letter, claiming that the U.S. Constitution is in “clear and present danger.”

“We therefore strongly urge the House of Representatives to impeach the President,” the group concludes.

Latvian government says it flagged ‘suspicious’ Hunter Biden payments in 2016

As the U.S. presidential race began roaring to life in 2016, authorities in the former Soviet republic of Latvia flagged a series of “ suspicious” financial transactions to Hunter Biden and other colleagues at a Ukrainian natural gas company and sought Kiev’s help investigating, according to documents and interviews.

The Feb. 18, 2016 alert to Ukraine came from the Latvian prosecutorial agency responsible for investigating money laundering, and it specifically questioned whether Vice President Joe Biden’s younger son and three other officials at Burisma Holdings were the potential beneficiaries of suspect funds.

“The Office for Prevention of Laundering of Proceeds Derived from Criminal Activity … is currently investigating suspicious activity of Burisma Holdings Limited,” the Latvian agency also known as the FIU wrote Ukraine’s financial authorities.

The memo was released to me by the Ukrainian General Prosecutor’s Office and confirmed by the Latvian embassy to the United States.

Latvian authorities said they did not get any incriminating information back from Ukraine to warrant further investigation and did not take additional action in 2016.

But the memo adds to the mounting evidence that there was ongoing investigative activity surrounding Burisma Holdings and Hunter Biden’s compensation as a board member in the weeks just before Joe Biden forced the firing of the Ukraine prosecutor overseeing the Burisma investigation in spring 2016.

The Latvian law enforcement memo identified a series of loan payments totaling about $16.6 million that were routed from companies in Beliz and the United Kingdom to Burisma through Ukraine’s PrivatBank between 2012 and 2015.

The flagged funds were “partially transferred” to Hunter Biden, a board member at Burisma since May 2014, and three other officials working for the Ukrainian natural gas company, the Latvian memo said.

The letter asked Ukrainian officials for any evidence about whether the funds were involved in corruption and whether Ukrainian officials were investigating Burisma and the recipients of the money.

David Brock PAC Drops $2 Million Into Anti-Trump Ads

A super PAC led by liberal operative David Brock has dropped more than $2 million into advertisements against President Donald Trump, filings show.

The American Bridge PAC, a Democratic opposition research committee, disclosed $250,000 in new independent expenditures for advertising against Trump, according to filings posted to the FEC's website late Friday night. The new disbursements come on the heels of $1.96 million the group spent on similar efforts in mid-November. The expenditures from Brock's PAC over the past several weeks appear to be the PAC's first foray into the 2020 presidential race.

Many Democratic operatives and organizers expressed hostile views toward Brock, a longtime Clinton loyalist who also founded Media Matters for America, following the 2016 election cycle, and urged him to stop attempting to help the party. Brock, instead, has doubled down on his efforts against Trump and Republicans.

"His ability to produce wins for Democrats is nonexistent," Jeff Weaver, the campaign manager for Bernie Sanders’s 2016 presidential bid, told the Daily Beast in 2017. "He does not have the kind of understanding of what kind of coalition you have to bring together to win national races—that’s his fundamental problem."

A senior official for Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign told the Daily Beast that Brock and his constellation of PACs and organizations are "useless" and added that the tens of millions of dollars they spent in 2016 might as well have been thrown down a well and set on fire. A former Obama administration official also referred to Brock as "fucking weird" and likened him to Mugatu from the movie Zoolander. "I don't know what the fuck [Brock's network] did besides raise a ton of money, and I don’t think the after-action report on 2016 says we need more David Brock. Probably the opposite is true," the official said.

US ‘Seeks Clarification’ on Turkey’s Warning over NATO Air Bases

ANKARA/WASHINGTON, D.C. – US Defense Secretary Mark Esper on Monday said he needed to speak with his Turkish counterpart to understand how serious Ankara about shutting down two strategic airbases.

RevContent InArticle SOLO

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned Sunday that Turkey could close Incirlik and Kurecik air bases in response to threats of Washington sanctions and a US Senate resolution that recognized the Armenian Genocide, Daily Sabah reported.

“It has not been brought up to me before. The first I heard of it was reading it in the papers as you just mentioned and so I need to talk to my defense counterpart to understand what they really mean and how serious they are,” Esper told reporters.

The Incirlik airbase in southern Turkey has been the main base for US operations in the Middle East and more recently the invasion of Syria, while Kurecik, in eastern Turkey, is a key NATO base housing a key radar station.

“If the Turks are serious about this, I mean, they are a sovereign nation, to begin with… they have the inherent right to house or not to house NATO bases or foreign troops,” Esper said on a plane as he flew back from Belgium, where he had attended the 75th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge.

“I think this becomes an alliance matter, their commitment to the alliance, if indeed they are serious about what they are saying,” he added.

Esper also noted he was disappointed by the direction Ankara seems to be taking, moving away from NATO and getting closer to Russia. Last week, the US Senate unanimously passed the Armenian Genocide bill, a historic move that infuriated Turkey and dealt a blow to the already problematic ties between Ankara and Washington.

The US Congress has been united in its opposition to Turkey’s recent policy actions. Republican senators have been incensed with Turkey’s purchase of the Russian S-400 missile system, which the US says poses a threat to its F-35 fighter jets and cannot be integrated into NATO defenses.

They have also moved to punish Turkey over its Operation “Peace Spring” in northern Syria. A US Senate committee backed legislation Wednesday to impose sanctions on Turkey, pushing President Donald Trump to take a harder line on the issue.

Some NATO diplomats worry that Turkey, a NATO member since 1952 and a crucial ally in the Middle East, has increasingly acted unilaterally. Meanwhile, Turkey has been critical of its NATO allies for failing to recognize its security concerns on the Syrian border and leaving it alone in its fight against terror threats.
