I can add a clue to help with the debugging of the double posting bug.
Normally you CANNOT post 2 copies of the same image in the same bread. The posting function checks the hash of the image and compares it with a list of image hashes already in the bread. You get an error if you try to post the same image.
It has happened at least once that a double post has allowed the same image to post without this check rejecting the 2nd copy of the image.
It's some kind of race condition where a post arrives at the server via 2 paths (maybe via retransmission after error) and the server is not checking to recognize the same post arriving twice.
I don't know how CM's code is deployed or the exact structure of the CDN/DDoSMitigation infrastructure so this is at best a conjecture.
Yes. There's an optional function on 8kun to colorize IDs. (Convert ID binary number into a color.) The anon who capped this had that function enabled. I certainly prefer colorized IDs muhsef.
