Many offer pain pills for procedures that don't need it with the BS excuse that "oh, maybe you hurt your back later on" or "oh, well you can fill it now, maybe you'll need it in the future."

They need to be held accountable!
It's the old (((Yankee))) trope that anyone with a Southern accent is automatically uneducated.
I have a friend who has some kind of pump surgically implanted from chronic pain of cancer, ruptured discs and other things. There are people who really do require adequate medication for true pain management. My rage is reserved for those doctors & dentists who have participated in a truly malevolent scheme to pass pills out like candy to enrich themselves (kickbacks).
