Honestly, I would not encourage my kid to pass on info to LE. You just don't know who's paying off whom. Plus if he has been even remotely involved himself, they'll try to make a Confidential Informant out of him. Then he'll have both sides after him. If anything I might send him across country to live with his great uncle on a farm or something.
