If anybody in the room tonight had any plans to see family/friends between Christmas and New Year's, this theory is the only strategy that could get this wrapped up by then.
Then again, these are lawyers, the world's slowest creatures, we're talking about. That said, I'm not sure that dragging anything in the Senate out into 2020 would be a plus for the campaign season.
Will be interesting to see what they do, but I'm 70:30 for full trial/dismissal.
