I grew up Catholic, left because of the scandal in the early 2000s, couldn't believe in God. Jesus Christ blessed me with a spiritual experience (a series of them). Yes, go within, but Love thy God and thy Neighbor. Find a Church. I checked out many and returned to the Catholic Church.
Yes, I'm well aware of the corruption. But going within, it is where I belong. Abandoning it because of the corruption is not my answer.
The response, 'my level of awakening' sounds like pride and ego. If that's what you are seeking, then go for new age occultist stuff, which I highly do NOT recommend. H onesty, O penmindedness, and W illingness are essential for spiritual experiences. God will led you to where He wants you. I learned that HOW from 12 step groups, where you may find some like minded folks as well. There are even 12 step groups within certain nondemoninational churches too.
Confession opens up to the sunlight of the Spirt for me, hearing within far more clearly, that along with meditating (or being Still in the being).
