Forget Trump — Hillary Clinton Took Center Stage In The Impeachment Debate

WASHINGTON — She lost the election, but Hillary Clinton played a starring role in speeches on the House floor leading up to the impeachment vote of President Donald Trump.
Republicans have spent much of the day accusing Democrats of trying to use impeachment to reverse the results of the 2016 election.
“If my Democratic colleagues were being honest, they’d tell us the only thing President Trump is guilty of is not being Hillary Clinton,” said Kansas Rep. Roger Marshall.
Judiciary Committee chair Jerry Nadler eventually pointed out that impeachment would not, in fact, reverse the results of the election and place Clinton in the White House. If a president is convicted in the Senate and removed from office, the vice president assumes the presidency.
“I would remind the gentleman if President Trump is impeached and removed, the new president would be Mike Pence, not Hillary Clinton,” Nadler said.
Hearing this, Republicans broke into cheers.
