One of the biggest turning points for the Nam war escallation, was of course the false flag I commanded in and around the Gulf of Tonkin. My son Jimmy got a kick out of that. Said it reminded him of his Yellow Tonka toy cranes and bulldozers and the Gulf tanker truck he had as a boy. We got together afterwards, for lunch and a round of golf. Turned on a Jap mini radio blaring the most Gawdaful noise and caterwalling I ever heard.
He started laughing. I stared at him, a tad harshly as the Nip radio almost blew my tee-shot, and he started warbling to the noise. Said "I'm gonna do more to win the war with this horrible hippy noise than your alledged torpedoes and Nixon's B-52's!"
I told him:
"Give em hell Jimmy, my boy!"
