Christmas Lies [They] Have Told
>Jesus was born on December 25th
False. Scholars surmise, based on clues written in the Scripture, that he was born around spring time.
>Three kings brought gifts to Him at His birth.
False. Magi, number not given in Scripture, brought gifts to Him long after He was born. The Magi were a tribe of astronomers/king makers of the Medes and Persians, in service to a king to keep him apprised of movements in the Heavenlies. Estimates suggest there would have been about 50-100 Magi, or more, who traveled by caravan to see this new King. The Scripture says their arrival in Jerusalem cause quite a disturbance among the people, and to Herod. Since they had traveled a great distance, over a long period of time, they would have taken their whole kit needed to survive: pots, pans, food, bed, clothes, etc. It was not unusual for their families to travel with them. It's supposed to have been a large, loud multitude of Persians, dressed in their very finest as fitting to see a king, riding into Jerusalem. No wonder it caused "a disturbance." Based on Scriptural clues, it is estimated Jesus would have been a toddler by this time the Magi visited Him.
These are just 2 of several other falsehoods perpetuated about the Truth of Christmas.
(the red text seems rather Christmasy, yes?)
