Giampiero Massolo is an Italian diplomat who attended the 2018 Bilderberg. The 2018 Bilderberg was the 66th Bilderberg meeting and occurred from 7-10 June, 2018 in Turin, Italy.

On 11 May 2012 the Interministerial Committee for the Security of the Republic appointed him director of the Department of information for security, replacing Gianni De Gennaro.

He is a member of the Italian Group of the Trilateral Commission and of the Executive Committee of the Aspen Institute Italia.

That tweet, apparently based on Italian sources, would indicate the second time Obama met with Renzi after Obama departed office. The first was in May 2017, during the visit to Milan recounted in my link at the 16 May entry (above). The focus in my May 2019 article was on Obama’s meeting with a very Link Campus-connected dignitary, Giampiero Massolo, a retired foreign service official and former director of the Italian DIS (the counterpart to the U.S. ODNI). People reported, however, that Obama also met with Renzi on the same May 2017 visit to Milan.

Exelon sued over lobbying investigation

The company has disclosed multiple grand jury subpoenas and an SEC probe.

Exelon faces a potential class-action lawsuit over its entanglement in a federal investigation of its lobbying practices.

A lawsuit filed this week by Joshua Flynn accuses the ComEd parent company of making false and misleading statements this year about the investigation, which repeatedly led to losses in its stock price.

Exelon disclosed in July it and ComEd had received a grand jury subpoena from the U.S. Attorney’s office in Chicago seeking information about its lobbying activities in Illinois. Then, in early October, it disclosed that the companies had received a second grand jury subpoena seeking information about “certain individuals,” including state Sen. Martin Sandoval.

On Oct. 15, it then issued a press release announcing the departure of Exelon Utilities CEO Anne Pramaggiore. That prompted Exelon’s stock price to fall 4.57% on Oct. 16, according to Flynn’s lawsuit.

On Oct. 31, Exelon disclosed an investigation by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission into its lobbying activities, prompting Exelon’s stock price to drop 2.51%, according to Flynn’s lawsuit.

The lawsuit complains that “Exelon left specific details concerning the lobbying investigation undisclosed,” and that its statement on Pramaggiore’s retirement “offered no reason for her departure, but analysts began to speculate that the criminal subpoenas and Pramaggiore’s abrupt resignation were related.”

Officials from Exelon declined comment Tuesday.

Embattled R&B star R. Kelly bribed an Illinois official to get a fake ID for an unnamed female a day before he secretly married 15-year-old singer Aaliyah in 1994, federal prosecutors in New York alleged in a new indictment filed Thursday.

The charges allege that Kelly directed someone in August 1994 to bribe the public official into making a false “identification document” for a person identified by authorities only as “Jane Doe #1.”

Jussie Smollett update: Chicago seeks to have 'Empire' actor's counterclaim dismissed

CHICAGO (WLS) – Lawyers for the City of Chicago will be in court Thursday hoping to have a counter suit from actor Jussie Smollett dismissed.

The actor's legal team claims the prosecution against him is causing economic harm, humiliation and emotional distress.

The city is still trying to recoup the $130,000 spent investigating what it calls a staged crime.

The counterclaim is finalized with a demand for a trial by jury, along with compensatory and punitive damages against the City. "As a proximate result of the wrongful conduct engaged in by Counterclaim defendants, Mr. Smollett has suffered and continues to suffer substantial economic damages as well as reputational harm, humiliation, mental anguish and extreme emotional distress in the amount according to proof at trial."

A special prosecutor has been appointed to investigate Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx's decision to drop the charges against Smollett.
