Had the same train of thought anon, but one thing bothered me. The same night of the impeachment Trump looked sincerely interested/concerned about the vote numbers. It seems to me that he didn't look like he knew the outcome and had this planned. He and his circle were speaking about Nancy kindly and politely before the vote, and after he found out he trashed her during the rally. This makes me think Nancy had not let anyone know she was planning to hold the articles. Only she knew about this move. That's how it appeared to me.
