There used to be a site like that where the guy would convince the Nigerian to meet him at the airport. Of course, he never flew there and they would wait for hours. Even got them to take a photo of themselves holding a sign with a name on it, so he could 'recognize them at the airport'. There was a photo of some Nigerian with a sign saying "David Lee Roth'. It was hysterical.

I think that kind of violence, and 'hurt porn' is, maybe not "widespread", but there is definitely a market for it, and people apparently pay big dollars to watch live feeds. Especially if they are able to direct the violence themselves.
