THEN fancy pants Pelosi brings forth the articles.
The Senate cannot pick a new SCOTUS, and SCOTUS is down to 7 so any important ruling is subject to the whim of those 7 during this time.
If they're lucky, it's over just a few months before election and they can scream NO SCOTUS BEFORE ELECTION REEEEEEE, and maybe dodge an overruling of a favorable lower court decision in the process.
That seems like their goal to me.
