I was at a state fair some years ago, they had a WWII memorial there with manes of those lost, I noticed an elderly man there with an very aged military ball cap looking at names with a tear in his eye. A few minuets later I passed back by that area and saw him again, this time sitting on a bench with his wife. I walked over, stuck my hand out, he stuck out his, I gave him a handshake and simply said, God Bless you and thank you for your service, that brought another tear followed with a smile. His wife looked up and mouthed thank you. Sometimes a Thank You is more than enough.
