The problem with the flag officer class is that they believe they are above the rules they enforce. Respecting the chain of command and obeying lawful orders.
Staff officers are not special. They have to obey the civilian leadership and respect the authority that WE THE PEOPLE bestow on the CinC.
I have no time for the cowboy staff officer class like Patton and MacArthur.
