Look at that map
The dots beside Lake Baikal in Russia, are sites where ancient bones have been found in Kurgan burials. Supposedly this is where the IndoEuropean speaking peoples came from.
And look at the dots in Europe!
This is where modern people have the same Y chromosome (male) DNA.
The first PDF has the whole paper with some female DNA analyzed as well.
But wait….
Look more closely at the map.
South of Lake Baikal is another country.
And south of that is yet another one, China
So did Europeans really come from the area north of China?
The second paper attached, compares the Old Chinese language (ancestor of modern Mandarin) to IndoEuropean root words. He finds lots of cognates, meaning that he makes a credible argument that either ancient Chinese adopted words from IndoEuropean, or vice versa or that both adopted words from a common 3rd source. And the DNA evidence says to me, that this is certainly a physical possibility.
Perhaps we don't really know as much about human history as we thought? Perhaps civilization arose in the frozen steppes where people had to be smarter about things, in order to survive through the year. Perhaps the Chinese, and their culture, are not really as distant from European culture as we have been told.
When I look at Chinese faces, I mostly see Caucasian faces with epicanthic folds, which is not surprising since the genes that cause that eye shape are dominant. This changes a bit in the south, where there is more of a Polynesian look, again with the epicanthic folds added. Chinese people, are in fact, incredibly diverse physically, This may help explain why they have maintained an empire so long, because the genetic diversity creates physical health and strength, just like it does in Europe.
