The book of Enoch as we know it today has never been authenticated nor has it been established as the same book that is quoted in the old and new testaments. There are several additional lost texts that are mentioned in the scriptures as well.

It is considered a Gnostic text at best and has never been canonized or included in the majority of scriptures available.

Where does the idea that the Septuagent is the Catholic version of the bible come from? Honest question.

>The Septuagint (also known as the LXX) is a translation of the Hebrew Bible into the Greek language. The name โ€œSeptuagintโ€ comes from the Latin word for seventy. The tradition is that 70 (or 72) Jewish scholars were the translators behind the Septuagint. The Septuagint was translated in the third and second centuries B.C. in Alexandria, Egypt. As Israel was under the authority of Greece for several centuries, the Greek language became more and more common. By the 2nd and 1st centuries B.C., most people in Israel spoke Greek as their primary language. That is why the effort was made to translate the Hebrew Bible into Greek โ€“ so that those who did not understand Hebrew could have the Scriptures in a language they could understand. The Septuagint represents the first major effort at translating a significant religious text from one language into another.

It is interesting to note that many of the New Testament quotes from the Hebrew Bible are taken from the Septuagint. As faithful as the Septuagint translators strived to be in accurately rendering the Hebrew text into Greek, some translational differences arose. In comparing the New Testament quotations of the Hebrew Bible, it is clear that the Septuagint was often used. This is the result of the fact that by the late 1st century B.C., and especially the 1st century A.D. โ€“ the Septuagint had โ€œreplacedโ€ the Hebrew Bible as the Scriptures most people used. Since most people spoke and read Greek as their primary language, and the Greek authorities strongly encouraged the use of Greek, the Septuagint became much more common than the Hebrew Old Testament. The fact that the Apostles and New Testament authors felt comfortable, under the direction of the Holy Spirit, in using the Septuagint should give us assurance that a translation of the original languages of the Bible is still the authoritative Word of God.

The Book of Enoch (also 1 Enoch;[1] Ge'ez: แˆ˜แŒฝแˆแˆ แˆ„แŠ–แŠญ metsโ€™iแธฅฤfe hฤ“noki) is an ancient Jewish religious work, ascribed by tradition to Enoch, the great-grandfather of Noah, although modern scholars estimate the older sections (mainly in the Book of the Watchers) to date from about 300 BC, and the latest part (Book of Parables) probably to the first century BC.[2]

It is not part of the biblical canon as used by Jews, apart from Beta Israel. Most Christian denominations and traditions may accept the Books of Enoch as having some historical or theological interest, but they generally regard the Books of Enoch as non-canonical or non-inspired. It is regarded as canonical by the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church, but not by any other Christian groups.

It is wholly extant only in the Ge'ez language, with Aramaic fragments from the Dead Sea Scrolls and a few Greek and Latin fragments. For this and other reasons, the traditional Ethiopian belief is that the original language of the work was Ge'ez, whereas non-Ethiopian scholars tend to assert that it was first written in either Aramaic or Hebrew; Ephraim Isaac suggests that the Book of Enoch, like the Book of Daniel, was composed partially in Aramaic and partially in Hebrew.[3]:6 No Hebrew version is known to have survived. It is asserted in the book itself that its author was Enoch, before the Biblical Flood.

Some of the authors of the New Testament were familiar with some of the content of the story.[4] A short section of 1 Enoch (1:9) is cited in the New Testament, Epistle of Jude, Jude 1:14โ€“15, and is attributed there to "Enoch the Seventh from Adam" (1 En 60:8), although this section of 1 Enoch is a midrash on Deuteronomy 33. Several copies of the earlier sections of 1 Enoch were preserved among the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Since it comes directly from the scriptures and your theory of reincarnation is not to be found anywhere in them. I believe I am on fairly solid ground with my understanding.

I am not certain which God you are praying and talking to if that was your instruction and explanation given but I hope it works out like you think it will for you.

Most Muslims are completely ignorant of their own religion and represent it dishonestly if they are aware of it's true nature. For the most part, they are really not allowed to even read their own scriptures and must gather knowledge and understanding through the religious leaders.

Their opinion of the Bible and scriptures is of no importance to me. I am willing to wager that less than 1% of them have even read it at all.

I have read almost all of the Gnostic texts that are available out there so I am quite familiar with them.

They have quite a few things included in the book of Enoch that is not mentioned or included in any of the other scriptures. How tall is the largest Nephilim mentioned in the book of Enoch as a start?
