They're out of ammo. The last of it is being saved for attempted escape.

There are no leaks. They have no idea when or what is coming. They have no idea the order or magnitude. They have been chasing red herrings / rumors for months. They're afraid of their own shadow now.

The only clue is obvious. It will occur when they least expect it and when they can least afford it.
